In this fantastic composition Scorpionflies are represented in the image of Thoth, the ancient Egyptian God. The God is floating on a boat on the Nile River at night. He is contemplating the lotus flowers. Thoth is the God of the Moon, Knowledge, Wisdom, Intelligence, Meditation, Logic, Magic, Reading and Writing. Scorpionfly is an order of insects, in which the males have enlarged tail that look similar to the stingers of scorpions. Scorpionflies were one of the most abundant insect groups in the days of the dinosaurs. The order today is made up of remnants of this former diversity, containing several species only. The modern Butterflies and Flies are believed to have descended from Scorpionflies ancestor.
